My family is going to be moving from CT to the Keene area next summer after the kids are out of school. Although I'm not new to the wheeling scene as I've been in it for 25+ years, I am new to wheeling in NH. I have a list of class 6 roads, but have no idea what is worth the time, and what will just be "hey lets take mommies minivan down this dirt road". My rig should be done over the winter, and I just want to make sure it's not overkill for most areas. Sucks when you don't even need low range. Specs on the truck 94 Ranger extra cab. 4.0 auto trans, stock t-case, SAS with Jeep rubicon front 44 clayton longarm kit, rear explorer 8.8 with detroit and matching 4.10's to the front. It will be sitting on 34" ltb's when I get around to putting rolling stock on it. Skids will be built according to what I smash up/leave exposed after it's driveable. From what I've of the pics on ENH, I think it's going to be to much overkill, and I need to just put some 29" swampers on an xj and go.

Nice, that's all the types of terrain I love. Right now, I'm running a WJ with a 2" bb and some metric 31's. It's ok, but not locked. There's a lot of place it can go, but a lot of terrain it can't.

no idea....if it were me and wanted to wheel around here. copy the class6 road list of what ever county and take a ride. i did more wheelin by myself than with ENH. and besides.they arent gonna tell me what i can and cannot do and what i HAVE to have in my truck. my truck is inspected for the state on NH to drive on any town/state road. enh was fun when they first started.

I saw your plate, and didn't know if you had any association with them. I grabbed the list of roads. I'm going to be in Winchester Saturday looking at 2 houses with my wife. I think I'll have to bring the WJ up instead of her car.

Not to bad.

My shitbox..

Image

My ranger when I found out it needed cab mounts.

Image

A week after I got it, found out mud sucks.

Image

How it sits today. Still sitting on my lift awaiting it to be finished. Like I said, should be done by March. Hopefully. I hate working on the midrise lift all the time.

Paints faded on the front, has dings and dents, but it's a truck. I use it as such. Bed is smashed to hell inside from me chucking everything in it. The trans crossmember has been bent and rebent a few times. But ya, for a bone stock 94 xlt, it went everywhere (except the mud lol). All I did to it until the SAS was manual hubs and weld the front diff. With the posi in the back, it made it through some **** that TJ's on 35's were having trouble with, even on street tires. The SAS is just because I want a solid axle under the front, and I got a rubicon one cheap! I haven't looked into a doubler yet, but I know I'm going to have to go to a one piece rear shaft when I'm done. Maybe the doubler is a good way to help....

a doubler is 2 t-cases. i made a front drive shaft

with the stock setup
fm146==3.76:1
1350===2.48:1
gears===4:56
----------------
42.52:1 crawl ratio

with what i have now

fm146==3.76:1
1350===2.48:1
205====1.96:1
Gears== 4:56:1
----------------
83.34:1 crawl ratio.

thats with the trans in 1st gear and both t-cases in low range.
